How to use the xml formatter

  1. Paste your XML.
  2. Choose pretty print or minify.
  3. Fix any reported error, then copy the result.

Well-formed XML

Every opening tag needs a matching closing tag (or must close itself like <br/>), tags must nest correctly, and there must be exactly one root element. The formatter checks these rules first and tells you which tag broke them.

Line 1: </a> doesn’t match the open tag <b>

Does it validate against a schema (XSD)?

No, it checks that the XML is well-formed, not that it matches a schema.

Is my data uploaded?

No. Everything runs in your browser, so what you paste never leaves your device.
