Choosing the language yourself is faster and more reliable than detecting it, especially for short recordings.

Runs on your device with an open-source AI model (40–240 MB, depending on accuracy, downloaded from this site the first time). Your files are never uploaded.

How to use the subtitle generator

  1. Choose a video (or audio) file.
  2. Pick the spoken language and SRT or WebVTT.
  3. Review the captions, then download the subtitle file.

Using the subtitles

SRT works on YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, Vimeo, VLC and most editors. WebVTT is for web video players. Always skim the captions: names, jargon and numbers are the most common mistakes. You can edit the text in the box before downloading.

Questions

How accurate is it?

It uses Whisper, an open-source speech model, in its small “tiny” size so it can run in a browser. Clear speech in common languages works well; strong accents, noise, music and overlapping speakers cause mistakes, so check the result before using it.

Can it burn the subtitles into the video?

Not yet. Upload the .srt file alongside your video on YouTube or social media, or load it in your video player.

Is my audio sent to an AI service?

No. The AI model is downloaded from this site once and runs on your device. The audio is never uploaded.
