Sort Lines Alphabetically

Paste a list, one item per line, and sort it alphabetically, numerically or by length.

How to use the sort lines alphabetically

  1. Paste your list, one item per line.
  2. Choose how to sort it.
  3. Tick options to remove duplicates or empty lines.

Natural sorting

Plain computer sorting puts “10” before “9” because it compares character by character. This tool sorts numbers inside text naturally, so “item 9” comes before “item 10”. Accented letters sort alongside their base letters.

Questions

Is it case-sensitive?

Not by default, so “apple” and “Apple” sort together. Tick case-sensitive to separate them.

How many lines can it handle?

Tens of thousands of lines sort instantly.
