    How to use the pdf unlocker

    1. Choose or drop the PDF.
    2. Enter its password (leave it empty if it only has restrictions).
    3. Confirm you’re allowed to unlock it, then select Unlock PDF.

    What this tool does and doesn’t do

    It decrypts a PDF using the password you provide, for example a bank statement or payslip you’d like to archive without a password. It also removes printing, copying and editing restrictions from PDFs that open without a password.

    It does not guess, crack or bypass unknown passwords. Only unlock files you own or have permission to change.

    I forgot the password. Can this open the file?

    No. Without the open password the contents can’t be decrypted. Ask whoever sent the file for the password or an unprotected copy.

    Are my files uploaded?

    No. The PDF is processed by your browser on your own device and is never sent to a server, so it’s safe to use with private documents.
